From one listing to the next, “with pool” covers very different things: a heated indoor pool or an outdoor pool open in the warmer months. At Le Domaine des Trois Tilleuls, in Villers-la-Ville, Walloon Brabant, the exclusive use of the 4 Cosy Cabins and the Foyer welcomes up to 16 people, children included, with an outdoor pool of about 3 × 5 m, open from April to September. Looking for group accommodation with a pool to bring the family together, 40 minutes from Brussels? Here are the questions to ask before you book. For each one, the Domaine’s answer: the type of pool, access, children, the season and rainy days, sleeping arrangements for 16 and the price.
What to check before you book
- Indoor or outdoor pool, heated or not?
- Reserved for your group or shared with other guests?
- Fenced, supervised, open at what times?
- Open on which dates?
- Out of season or in the rain, what takes over?
Indoor or outdoor, heated or not: what “with pool” really means
At the Domaine, the pool is outdoors, fenced, about 3 × 5 m and unheated: a pool for cooling off and for the children, from April to September.

In group accommodation listings, the same words can mean a heated indoor pool, used all year round, or an outdoor pool open in the warmer months. For a stay in October or February, the difference matters: always ask about the type of pool, its season and its heating.
| Question to ask | What the answer changes | At the Domaine |
|---|---|---|
| Indoor or outdoor? | Swimming all year round or in the warmer months | Outdoor, fenced |
| Heated? | The water temperature in spring | Unheated |
| How big? | How many swimmers at once | About 3 × 5 m |
| Which dates? | The stays when it really counts | April to September |
For warmth, the Domaine relies on its Finnish sauna, heated to 85 °C and open 24/7.
“Picturesque setting, superb outdoor pool, a top welcome and very beautiful interior decor.”
Sébastien, on Google (translated from French)
A pool just for your group?
The pool is reserved for Cosy Cabin guests: when your group books all 4 cabins, you are the only ones with access to it.
It stays open 24/7 in season, in line with the house rules, which ask for quiet from 10 PM to 7 AM. A dip before breakfast, a swim after a walk: your group sets the pace.
“With our group of 14 people, we really enjoyed the cosy chalets. […] The sauna, the pool and the Foyer were of course the main highlights.”
Griet, on Airbnb (translated from Airbnb’s French version)
Children and the pool: fencing and responsibility
The pool is fenced and unsupervised (children use it under the responsibility of the accompanying adults).
For a family get-together, it is something to arrange as soon as you arrive: who goes with the youngest, and at what times of day. Around the pool, children also find the meadows where the horses graze, and in the evening, the fire pit. A question about your children’s ages or access to the pool? Write to us before you book, we will be happy to answer.
Out of season or in the rain: the sauna and the Foyer take over
From October to March, or when it rains, the Finnish sauna, the Foyer and its covered terrace take over from the pool.

The Foyer brings the whole group together in its large room, around 4 tables for 4, near the wood-burning stove; its covered terrace keeps the children outdoors even on grey days. The sauna, open 24/7, is heated to 85 °C. As soon as the sky clears, 70 km of trails start from the Domaine, including the Abbey walk, 6.86 km, to Villers Abbey, on foot from the Domaine. Other ideas for outings are gathered in what to do around the Domaine when the pool is closed.
“[…] getting together around the fire in the Foyer and playing games while watching the rain fall. […] Now we will have to come back in summer to enjoy a good barbecue and the pool.”
A family, in the guestbook of a Cosy Cabin (translated from French)
Staying 16 strong around the pool: a cabin for each family
Each family has its own Cosy Cabin, for 1 to 4 people, and the whole group gets together in the Foyer.

In each cabin: a king-size bed on the mezzanine, two single beds side by side in the alcove, an equipped kitchen, a rooftop terrace, a shower, a washbasin and a dry toilet. Everyone can find some quiet when they want it; the pool, the sauna and the Foyer remain shared spaces. To plan who sleeps where, see a Cosy Cabin, for 1 to 4 people and how to share large group accommodation between 16 people.
“[…] We spent a weekend there with our children and three other families (each in their own cabin).”
Bertrand, on Google (translated from French)
